Diana P Keat LCSW MBA

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

My name is Diana and I've worked with CM Counsel for more than a decade as a psychotherapist.  As a licensed clinical social worker, I have worked with children, individual adults, and couples and find my work to provide high levels of satisfaction.  I truly enjoy working with people and witnessing them as they grow and find ways to cope with the various issues they come to therapy with. You might be wondering which approach I take with people I work with.  I do not have any one particular technique; however, I often use client-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and mindfulness.  I find mindfulness is something that many people gravitate toward because it helps to understand what a person is experiencing at any given moment and how that affects behavior; we can be reactionary or responsive, depending upon how we are impacted by what is happening around us. When someone becomes aware of how they are receiving stimuli at any given moment, they have more of a chance to respond to the situation and hopefully have a positive impact on the dynamics occurring. I studied mindfulness-based stress reduction (MSBR) for many years at Jefferson and worked with John Kabat-Zinn, the founder of MBSR and found that, when appropriate, it becomes a most useful tool.

All in all, when a person chooses to work with me, I am honored.   I am honored to be invited into someone's life and work alongside them to achieve the goals we set out to accomplish. I look forward to having that opportunity to work with you and believe it will be a learning experience for both/all of us.
