Lisa Wood, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

I am a licensed clinical social worker working in the mental health/substance use field for 28 years. My therapeutic style is more of a person-centered clinician, working with adults with a focus on problems with mood symptoms, older adults, and LGBTQ plus. I like to use cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and mindfulness skills to support clients in finding healthy coping skills and changes to support the goals clients have for themselves.

I typically work with adults with mood disorders, life changes and transitions, chronic pain, and health problems, and also with people within the LGBTQ plus community as a member and an ally. My goal as a therapist is to provide a calm environment where people feel heard and are able to explore options for themselves.

The first session is a time for me to get to know you and you to get to know me. I like to get some history, get an idea of what the client wants to work on, what they need from a therapist, and what their expectations from therapy are.
