Nia Murray MEd NBCC LPC TCP

Licensed Professional Counselor

National Certified Counselor

I specialize in child/adolescent and young adult mental health disorders with a focus on providing evidence-based, compassionate care tailored to each of my patients’ unique needs. I typically use a cognitive behavioral approach to treatment, which focuses on helping individuals understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In addition, I utilize a person-centered approach which supports my belief that every individual has the capacity for growth, change, and healing. As a result, treatment is tailored to my client’s unique needs.

I treat a wide range of conditions, including anxiety disorders, depression, stress-related issues, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and trauma-related symptoms. I am also qualified to offer consultation for school-aged children to support families advocating for academic supports in their child’s school. For example, support in requesting an individualized education plan (IEP) or a 504-service plan.

I am a national board-certified counselor (NBCC) and hold my license in professional counseling (LPC) in the state of Pennsylvania. I am a certified K-12 school counselor with a level II certification. I am also a trauma-competent professional (TCP), holding a certificate in training as well as treating individuals with complex trauma. I am a life-long member of the national honor society for psychology students (PsyChi). I regularly attend professional development opportunities to stay current on the latest research and best practices in mental health. I am particularly interested in continued education around trauma and brain development. I believe most treatable mental health disorders are rooted in childhood and are caused by the growing brain’s experiences.

In addition to traditional in-office therapy, I offer teletherapy services to increase accessibility and continuity of care.
